How to Print Price Tags & Shelf Labels from Shopify

LabelCraft - barcode labels for Shopify that print at exactly the size you set.

The guarantees behind every label
Exact to ±0.1 mm

Every label prints at the size you set - measured, not approximate.

Never a silent failure

Overflow or a missing barcode always raises a visible warning before you print.

Whole-dot barcodes

Every bar lands on whole printer dots, so codes stay crisp and scan first time.

Your barcodes, untouched

We never overwrite or reassign a product's existing barcode.

A price tag is just a label that shows what a product costs - usually next to its name and a scannable barcode so it rings up correctly at the till. Because your prices already live in Shopify, you don't need a separate design tool or a spreadsheet: LabelCraft prints price tags and shelf-edge labels directly from your products, pulling the price, name, SKU and barcode from each variant. This guide shows how.

What counts as a price tag or shelf label?

“Price tag” covers a few related label types, and LabelCraft prints all of them from the same product data:

Before you start

Step by step: print price tags from Shopify

  1. Open LabelCraft from your Shopify admin and go to Step 1 - Select Products. Add the products you want to tag.
  2. In Step 2 - Set Quantities, choose how many of each tag to print - one per item, or pull live stock counts with “From inventory” for a full shelf reset.
  3. In Step 3 - Print, pick a template. The built-in templates already show the product name, price, SKU and barcode - no design needed.
  4. Check the live preview. Each tag shows that variant's real price from Shopify, in your store currency.
  5. Click Generate PDF (or generate ZPL for a Zebra / Rollo printer - push it straight there with PrintNode set up).
  6. Print at 100% / actual size - never “Fit to page” - so the tag and its barcode come out at the exact size they were designed for.

What goes on the tag - and where the price comes from

A retail price tag usually carries four things, and LabelCraft fills each one from the product automatically:

Picking a size: shelf labels vs product tags

There is no single “price tag size” - pick by where the tag goes. A few common choices:

Always print at 100% (actual size)

The single most common cause of a tag that will not scan is a printer scaling the page. “Fit to page”, “Shrink to fit” or the wrong paper size all change the barcode's width, and a resized barcode stops scanning. LabelCraft builds every label at an exact physical size; print at 100% / actual size and the price stays legible and the barcode scans first time. There is a full walk-through in the print-at-actual-size guide below.

When prices change, reprint - don't relabel by hand

Because the price comes from Shopify, keeping tags current is just a reprint: update the price on the product, reselect it in LabelCraft, and print a fresh tag. Save the layout as a preset (LabelCraft Pro) and a weekly price update becomes a two-click reprint - no re-typing prices onto stickers, and no mismatch between the shelf and the till.
